Let’s have a heart-to-heart. I’m about to drop some truth that might sting a little, but it’s coming from a good place and it could transform how you approach Instagram (and your business) this year.
Here it is: People don’t automatically know what you do.
I know it feels like they should. You’ve poured your heart into designing beautiful interiors, you’ve got an incredible portfolio, and you’re showing up on Instagram. Shouldn’t they just get it?
But here’s the thing: people are busy. They’re scrolling past a hundred other accounts every day. If your offers aren’t crystal clear and easy to find, you’re missing out on clients who would love to work with you.
Why Offers Matter (More Than You Think)Your offers are more than just a list of services. They’re the totality of what you do to deliver one core result — a bridge between your talent and your clients’ needs. They give people clarity, direction, and the confidence to say, Yes, I’m ready to work with you.
But here’s where I see many designers hesitate: getting super clear on their offers—especially their signature offer.
Maybe you feel like talking about your offers is beneath you, or perhaps putting them front and centre seems “salesy.” I get it. But here’s the truth: your offers are what help people understand how you can improve their lives (and their spaces).
Dialing in your offers isn’t about boxing yourself in—it’s about creating clarity. When people know exactly how they can work with you, it builds trust and removes the guesswork. And in a world where attention spans are shrinking, that clarity is everything.
The Sweet Spot: Two Offers That Meet People Where They Are
Here’s what I recommend: focus on two clear, intentional offers that serve different client needs.
Your Signature Offer – This is your full-service, top-tier option. It’s the big-picture work you love to do that delivers exceptional results for your dream clients. These projects often have longer timelines, allowing for a deeper, more transformative experience.
Your Gateway Offer – This is a smaller investment option designed to open doors. It’s perfect for people who aren’t ready to commit to your full-service offering but still want to benefit from your expertise. These services are typically shorter and more focused—quick wins that deliver value without the extended commitment.
Think of it like this: just as fashion consultants offer different levels of support to meet their clients where they are, you can structure your services in a way that feels approachable and flexible. Companies like LaClosette and Charly Goss offer a shopping experience (gateway) and a wardrobe overhaul (signature) as service offerings—each meeting their clients’ needs in different ways.
Here’s How to Start
Take your Signature Offer and your Gateway Offer and create an Offer Presentation Post for each:
• Create a carousel post that explains what it is, who it’s for, and why it’s valuable
• Use beautiful photos that grab attention
• Pin these posts to the top of your Instagram feed
Why pin them? Because they act as a roadmap for new visitors. When people land on your profile, they’ll immediately understand how you can help them, and what their next step should be.

I was chatting with Michelle about last week’s blog, and she said, “That’s a lot of work.” And she’s right. Writing captions that actually spark conversations and bring in inquiries is a lot of work.
